HAPPY ENDING

But he did not squeeze. He regained control the instant his eyes met yours. Your gaze was steady, angry, and unafraid.

He frowned, not releasing you. "Why aren't you afraid?" He hissed.

You raised your chin, your throat pressing into his hands as it filled with your voice, "Fear would not help me." You whispered.

He tensed, his hands loosening. "In any case... I do not believe you are in any danger." His gaze softened as he dropped his hands to his sides, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath.

You looked up at him with concern as you took his hand in yours, pressing it to you stomach. His eyes fluttered open and he looked down at you with a tired, sad gaze. "This is highly irregular."

You nodded, putting your head to his chest.

He sighed and wrapped his arms around you, resting his head on yours.

There was a beeping and you stepped back, looking to a control panel. "We're being hailed."

He nodded, giving you a small push toward Kirk as he pressed the call button. Spock appeared on the screen. "Khan?

Khan nodded, sitting in the captain's chair with a huff. "Everything's fine, mister Spock."

Spock frowned. "Where is the captain?"

"He's here." you called, helping Kirk stand and stumble into the sight of the screen, you set him in one of the chairs and then moved to Scotty, helping him up as you called, "And Scotty."

Spock narrowed his eyes. "The Admiral?"

Khan nodded toward the unconscious Admiral at his feet. "Alive."

Spock nodded, blinking slowly. "We will beam everyone over."

Khan nodded, leaning back in the chair and closing his eyes. "The Captain and Ms. Marcus will need to go straight to med bay."

Spock nodded. "Acknowledged." He turned and spoke to some one off-screen. "Please prepare your team."

When Spock turned back to the screen, Khan had hung up. He frowned, turning to Bones. "I believe I am... Proven wrong."

Bones smirked, crossing his arms. "That girl’s a lot more than any of us give her credit for."

Spock nodded, clasping his hands behind his back. "Sending her proved a proper move."

---

Bones stood in your doorway when you answered. You frowned. "What’s the matter?"

He smiled. "He's asking for you."

You groaned and shook your head, "Which one?"

He smirked and grabbed your hand. "All of them."

When you two arrived at med bay, Bones opened the door and waved you in. You turned to say something to him, but the door closed between you. You growled.

"Easy tiger." coughed a voice.

You sighed, bowing your head as you stood at Kirk's beside. "Hello, James..."

"Ay! What about me! Cannae I get any love?"

You laughed, turning to smile at the bed on you other side. "Hello, Scotty."

He smiled and calmed down, satisfied. You turned your gaze to Kirk. He fumbled for your hand and nodded to something behind you.

Khan stood, watching you with a calm face, no emotions clear.

You smiled, looking over his tense stance. "Hello." You said quietly, walking up to him.

He frowned, looking down at you. "You look dreadful."

You sighed, feeling at your thin cheekbones self-consciously. "Well, blame your son."

Khan laughed, his arms suddenly around you as he pulled you to his chest. "He will be strong."

You smiled up at him, nodding.

He kissed you softly on the forehead. "He gets it from his mother."

"Get a room." Kirk croaked, the bite of a laugh in his voice.

Khan smirked, rubbing your back as you lay your head on his chest. "But that's what got us in this mess."

---

"What should we name him?" you whispered, curling into Khan's side.

He laughed, pulling the blanket up around you. "We have time, my dear."

You shook your head, closing your eyes and yawning. "He will be finished shortly. A week's time and my term will be over."

He kissed you head and put his hand to you large stomach, whispering into your hair as your fell asleep. "We have time."
